Marie Maschmeier
Co-Founder and Trustee
Marie is a co-founder and Trustee of the Saint Michael Trust. She is dedicated to building the operational frameworks that allow philanthropic missions to thrive. and brings a unique blend of high-level strategy, precise execution, and deep empathy to the Trust’s leadership.
Professionally, Marie serves as Senior Marketing Manager at ZEISS Medical Technology, where she leads complex brand awareness and go-to-market programs—expertise she now applies to scaling the visibility and impact of the Trust. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, a foundation that grounds her approach to organizational governance, strategic growth, and the belief that robust processes are the backbone of sustainable philanthropy.
A nonprofit leader shaped by a global perspective and lived experience, Marie was born and raised in Russia, bringing a multicultural and multilingual lens to her advocacy. She turned some of motherhood’s most transformative moments—including navigating the NICU with her newborn and an intentional period away from the corporate world to raise her children—into a strategic mission for change. These experiences solidified her belief that community is not a luxury, but a lifeline; she is now committed to building the sustainable networks where families feel seen, valued, and empowered.
A self-described "student always," Marie is also a certified yoga teacher and a former competitive ballroom dancer. She balances professional rigor with a commitment to mindful service, ensuring that every resource is utilized effectively to create a future where no one has to navigate life’s hurdles alone.

Shimul “Shimmy” Mehta
Trustee
Shimmy Mehta is a leader in corporate philanthropy and digital innovation with over 25 years of experience bridging the gap between the nonprofit and corporate sectors. A “recovering consultant” who found his true calling in social impact, Shimmy pioneered digital philanthropy in 1999 as the founder and CEO of Angelwish. There, he created one of the first platforms to mobilize thousands of employees across 40 Fortune 500 companies to support children with chronic illnesses.
Currently, Shimmy serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Island Health, where he is leading a $6M capital campaign to expand critical healthcare access on Martha’s Vineyard. His expertise spans 501-c(3) governance, impact measurement, and the design of enterprise-wide engagement programs.
Throughout his career, Shimmy has been a steadfast champion of equity-centered giving, ensuring that underserved voices are centered in institutional decision-making. He believes that innovative philanthropy serves as a catalyst for community transformation, and he remains dedicated to building sustainable frameworks for meaningful change.

Stuart Maschmeier

Stuart Maschmeier is Co-Founder of the Saint Michael Trust, the philanthropic division of Micro Image Technologies. Alongside his wife, Marie Maschmeier, Stuart established the Trust as a purposeful expression of gratitude—a way to channel the success of their professional work into causes that create real, lasting change in the communities they serve.
With more than 25 years of distinguished experience in capital surgical sales and management, he became President of Micro Image Technologies in 2025, partnering with Drew Messler to lead the company’s mission of delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to surgical teams and healthcare institutions across the nation.
Beyond his decades of professional accomplishments, Stuart is deeply committed to his family, children and community. Stuart’s approach to philanthropy mirrors his approach to business: relationship-driven, utilizing a strategic and solution-oriented mindset, and focused on long-term impact. He believes that true generosity lies in equipping people and communities with the systems and support they need to thrive on their own.
